For the first time in my life

It’s time for me to fly

To the sages and their pages I ignored
To the hungry and cold I closed the door
To the demons I beckoned and obliged
To the bitter nights I raged and cried

In the darkness
The crow came one last time
I was taken
Not forsaken I was blind
Bound and tied

To see me
Bear my brier crown
